Uranium One

Our Commitments

Uranium One is committed to ensuring that all of its employees are afforded the opportunity to work in a clean and safe environment in an atmosphere of mutual respect. We comply with and wherever possible, exceed, applicable safety and health requirements. Uranium One is extremely proud of its health and safety performance for 2013. Uranium One finished the year with its best health and safety performance in the company's history. Some key highlights include:

  • A 44% reduction in recordable incidents from 2012 to 2013, which continues to remain below industry standards even though employee hours worked at all operations increased by 1.3 million hours in 2013.
  • A decrease in the Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) from 0.61 to 0.26 for our employees and from 0.43 to 0.12 for our contractors on a 12 months moving average basis
  • No fatalities, four lost time and four medical aid incidents in 2013 compared to one fatality and eighteen recordable incidents in 2012.

Similarly, we are committed to consideration of environmental and social issues which may impact on key stakeholders such as indigenous people, local landholders and the communities in which we operate.
